ReNance Dance Studio
Here are a few tips to help us continue having a successful year of dance:
Dance Fees- Monthly payments will be accepted at the first lesson of each month. There are a total of 40 classes taught in the 10 month dance year Sep thru June. Please pay at the first lesson to avoid the $8 late fee. Missing Class- Please email a message, or tell me in advance if you will miss a class. Classes will be paid for whether attended or not. Keep in mind how important it is for your dancer to attend class and stay on schedule. Class Cancellation- Classes will be canceled and rescheduled if the Mpls schools close for weather reasons.
Waiting Upstairs- You can certainly wait for your student upstairs, but please remember, the stairway is open and we can hear the slightest of noise or talking. Please keep the distractions to minimum.
Entrance and Exit- Always enter dance class via the rear stairway. The dance floor is for dancers only. When class is over, the students will exit up the front stairs. Parents and siblings need to keep this area clear for better ‘traffic flow,’ please use the chairs.
Peeking- Please do not look down or sit on the steps to watch classes. My experience shows that the children lose their attention and focus on the ‘audience,’ not the teaching you’re paying for.
Practice- Encourage your children to show you what they have learned. Little ones may not show you much, but they have processed a lot of information, so even talking about it helps. They are usually very happy to have your attention and show off their stuff!
‘Potty-Time’- Please have your dancers use the bathroom (or try) before class. This is a courtesy to the other children so class won’t be interrupted. You know that children ‘have to go’ if you just mention it!
Lost Items- It is really important to label all shoes and dance bags. Please keep shoes in a bag, it’s so helpful for transporting, changing, and loss prevention! Look Sharp- Please remember proper dance attire; leotards and tights or a one-piece leotard are best. Shorts, swimsuits, and regular street clothes are NOT acceptable. Older students may wear bike shorts and a T-shirt (not big and/or baggy) so I can observe the dancer’s movements Thank you for reading this over!
